AT&T User Reviews
![]() Don't get fooled by Roll-Over MinutesOverall Rating: By: Naomi Williamson on Tuesday, May 12, 2009From: Fridley, MN (United States) Experience: 45 Days Pros: slick advertising that makes you think you can save money with roll-over minutesCons: Phone quality, phone logic set up, service, attitude Summary: I switched from Verizon to AT&T thinking I'd save money with roll-over minutes. Every feature of the way the phones are set up-with internet access as the default, to higher charges for everything else (e.g., text messages)-ensures that you will never realize a cost benefit from roll-over minutes. After I switched, we were unhappy with the quality of the phones (cheap appearance), the way they worked (more strokes for basic functions), missed calls...I could go on. We didn't switch thinking we were just trying AT&T out, but the final straw was when we were still returning/exchanging defective phones and calling for help with the transition, I hadn't paid our initial bill. I was past the 30 day trial period. They didn't email, they didn't call, they didn't text ... they just cut off my service dead cold. They had sent one piece of snail mail - which I didn't see until my phone went dead. It's not like they didn't have my cell number or my email. They just didn't care now that I was past 30 days. It had taken only 45 days for me to hate their phones, their service and everything about how they do business. I realized then that I could not tolerate being in a relationship with them for 2 years. I sent them the $230.57 I owed for activation and service to that date and returned the phones with a detailed explanation about why I didn't want to be a customer of theirs. They turned me over to an aggressive collection agency (Southwest Credit) who didn't care about anything in my letter or the reasons for my termination of the customer relationship. They demanded I pay AN ADDITIONAL $1,084. All three credit reporting agencies have lowered my score. My regret is that I sent them the $230 in the first place. They didn't care why I left, only took advantage of the fact that I didn't reach hatred until after the 30 day period. I strongly advise you not to try them, but if you do, don't miss your 30 day window. Because they will screw you to the wall. I can't imagine hating a company more than I do AT&T. If I could rate them worse than "poor" I would. You are warned. Verizon may not have roll-over minutes, but they are up-front about their charging structure and responsive to my question, "How can I bring down my phone bill?" when I call. 1 out of 2 people found this review helpful Great Service- glad switchedOverall Rating: By: Reviewer Reviewer on Thursday, May 07, 2009From: Houston, TX (United States) Experience: 1 Months Pros: Bars everywhere, Customer Service is great, Awesome choice of phones, Fast 3G, Fix problems right when calledSummary: I switched from T-mobile because of its Bad Customer Service, bars, droped calls. Made me wait 2 hours Paying for 2 phones $220 no addons. I joined At&t who's customer care actually cares they fixed my problems in just a matter of minutes and were very nice. I didn't have to wait the next bill cycle to get my plan or features changed. I get bars everywhere tmobile was not able to. People told me Tmobile's problem is temp. and will be fixed in about a month two months later still like that. I even talked to my friend who is an manager at tmobile(he doesn't use tmobile himself hates it) and he said this problem isn't a temp. problem this will be a problem. Att has higher pricing than tmobile but is way worth it... 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful Over all great serviceOverall Rating: By: Kevin Wells on Monday, April 06, 2009From: Whitmore Lake, MI (United States) Experience: 11 Years Pros: great calling service. Pricing is a little higher than some of the other companies.Cons: Charged for text messages even after blocking that feature!Summary: Very dependable service across the country. I full-time in an RV and have service throughout most of my travels. I have traveled with many other people using other Cell companies, they end up having to use my phone to make calls, as their phones had no service. Prices are a little higher than some of the other companies but I feel they are worth it due to the reliable coverage I get. I think the phone and services you use makes a huge difference in how well any cell service works. I use the Sony Ericsson W300i and have had no issues. I do not text or use the internet services. I have thought about switching to Sprint, because of their $99.99 everything plan, but changed my mind after talking to current Sprint users. I did not hear any say they were happy with Sprint. 5 out of 5 bad reviews, tells me to stay with AT&T 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful AT&T - CingularOverall Rating: By: jessie bryant on Sunday, March 08, 2009From: cleveland, OH (United States) Experience: 4 Years Pros: large phone selection and plans to fit your style. Every time I called customer service they have always helped me and even have a 24/7 late niht number there always on call - this is the best plan / company I have ever had I plan to stay with them. The only thing I dont like is there plans arnt cheap but you get great service 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful I LOVE U AT&TOverall Rating: By: Aaron Wells on Wednesday, March 04, 2009From: Columbus, OH (United States) Experience: 15 Days Pros: Everything ILY!!!Cons: not much it is a quality phone company!!Summary: Great phones, rates, and .... 0 out of 1 people found this review helpful Can't Wait Until The Plan Is Up!Overall Rating: By: Rita Metsch on Tuesday, February 17, 2009From: Lowell, IN (United States) Experience: 4 Years Pros: Good RatesCons: Bad customer service, added fee's to every billSummary: Have a family plan, good rate but there are always added charges to my bill! Customer service is not helpful in anyway. They will never ever reverse charges regardless of your claim that you did not use these services. It's your word against theirs and they always win. Will never have At&t again! 1 out of 4 people found this review helpful Horrible!Overall Rating: By: Sherlie James on Saturday, February 14, 2009From: Bronson, FL (United States) Experience: 85 Days Pros: Phones are niceCons: Horrible service, customer service, and overall experience. LONG hold times, at least 15 minutes everytime. Summary: I would never recommend to anyone! Switching out very soon! 1 out of 4 people found this review helpful what ever happened to good service....Overall Rating: By: Joseph S on Tuesday, February 10, 2009From: new york, NY (United States) Experience: 5 Years Pros: I hate to say it but there is nothing positive about AT&T. Cons: AT&T's acquisition of Cingular was the worst thing that has happened to "Cingular". AT&T "reach out And destroy good service" please bing back Cingular without the AT&T!Summary: I was a loyal customer to Cingular service since Cingular first came out. I think that was the best cell phone service I have ever had. There was responsible billing, great customer service, and my bill was actually something I look forward to. Now I get charged for "Looking at the phone" before I even make a phone call. When I heard AT&T was taking over Cingular I cringed because I knew that was the end of Good service. The service has gone to the dumps with AT&T and I can't wait for my contract to end so that I can finally be one of the many who will make AT&T bankrupt. AT&T "we drop calls as well as customers". 1 out of 3 people found this review helpful scam artists with horrible customer serviceOverall Rating: By: ron ron on Thursday, February 05, 2009From: palm bay, FL (United States) Experience: 8 Years Pros: good rate plansCons: billing dept, and customer service, almost no reception indoorsSummary: Customer of 8yrs Have had many strange bill increases for no reason of $100 or more. Had my address get changed some how and sent to a women in another city. They billed me $150 for an item that was returned late even though they could see it was mailed out and in transit 4 days after I purchsed it. 1 out of 2 people found this review helpful Customer ServiceOverall Rating: By: Paulette Belcher on Thursday, February 05, 2009From: Lebanon, TN (United States) Experience: 10 Years Pros: Good CoverageCons: Terrible Customer Service Policies, poor staffing in stores.Summary: Buyer beware. You have no recourse with ATT if you ever have any service problems. I have a new Blackberry past the 30 days (5 months old). I am told I will have to wait a minimum of 5 business days to get a replacement phone during which time I will be totally without service. I travel 100 miles + daily and rely on my phone for emergencies and in the event I have car problems on the road. I will receive a refurbished phone (someone else's problem phone) and no additional extension to the warranty. The CS reps were very nice but are not allowed to go outside ATT rules regardless of the circumstances. ATT is and has always been a very uncaring and unconcerned organization when it comes to customer satisfaction. Their overall ratings bare this statement out from other surveys, and they still make no effort to improve or to take care of long term customers that they have never had any problems with. What does this tell you about ATT? Draw your own conclusion. 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful |
