Wouldn't recommend

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Jennifer Ruppel on Monday, June 02, 2008
From: Caledonia, WI (United States)
Experience: 12 Years
Pros: One of the best for pricing, but you're essentially paying for crappy service!

Cons: Poor customer service, MOST dropped calls!

Summary: I have been a Cingular customer for over 10 years. Their customer service has NEVER been able to help me with any issues. Now since they've merged with AT&T and supposedly have the fewest dropped calls (what a joke!), I can hardly get reception. In my house, there are a few specific locations I need to stand still in order to make or receive a call without losing it. When we visit family, I cannot ever count on having a signal. My contract with them is up and I am finally shopping for a better provider - TONIGHT!!

AT&T

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Jan Mayer on Tuesday, May 06, 2008
From: St. Charles, MO (United States)
Experience: 3 Years
Pros: Great coverage, good deals on phones, great customer service and online help

Cons: sometimes expensive, some plans could use improvement

Summary: AT&T is the probably greatest wireless provider out there. I switched from T-mobile to Cingular about three years ago and have not had any problems with it so far. In some areas out in the country the signal is lost at certain places but that's the same with all carriers. Now that AT&T and Cingular have merged there is even more to expect from the company in the future. This company just keeps growing and now provides television and internet services as well. And good deals are available for joint plans.

Many problems over the years

Overall Rating:
1.3 out of 5
By: C Ballard on Monday, May 05, 2008
From: Marietta, GA (United States)
Experience: 5 Years
Summary: We started out with AT&T before they were Cingular and didn't have any problems. Cingular took over and we still didn't have any problems until we had to complete the merge and the customer service was really poor. We have had issues ever since. Our coverage doesn't seem to be good in some places we are always having drop calls where we use to not. We had to extend our contact to add a line for our daughter and when it is up we are going to another carrier.

AT&T/ Cingular is great!

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Joanna Poli on Wednesday, April 30, 2008
From: NJ, NJ (United States)
Experience: 5 Years
Pros: International Capability, Reception, no unexpected extended contracts!

Cons: Not all areas had the fast 3G coverage

Summary: Ive had at&t when they first started off with Cingular, Ive never had a problem with customer service helping me out. They gave great deals on phones and always try to do their best to help me out with something im not understanding or with new cellphones coming out. What ive come to find though is that authorized dealers are alittl bit too snobby and at corporate stores they know much more and helped me out alot faster and more efficiently! at&t will ALWAYS be my carrier!

I want out

Overall Rating:
1.3 out of 5
By: Deanne s on Friday, April 25, 2008
From: kansas city, MO (United States)
Experience: 7 Years
Pros: There isn't one

Summary: I started out with Cingular didnt have any complaints with them was a good service all around. After switching to AT&T the customers service is very poor. We bought another house no signials in that area. AT&T told us that was too bad we are in a contract and there is nothing they will do for us. We still have another year left that we cant use. They said we would have to get shipped over seas or die. Also got a notice they are raise our text messaging rates when I called them about that they gave me a very hard time about that. They are breaking my contract but won't admit to it. I don't have anything good to say about AT&T I am disconnecting my internet and home phone from them.

I don't recommend ATT!

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Carol Baum on Wednesday, March 26, 2008
From: Atlanta, GA (United States)
Experience: 7 Years
Pros: none

Cons: poor customer service.

Summary: My RAZR quit working the day before I was leaving on a trip out of state. I carried phone to ATT Service Center where it was checked out. I was told the (new) battery I bought from them a week earlier was not making connection. Since the phone was out of warranty by 6 months, I was told I wasn't due for an upgrade until July, and the only thing I could do was purchase another phone at a cost of $349.00. I asked them if they had a "loaner" phone I could use on my trip and I would buy a new phone when I returned. They emphatically said NO! That's my reward for being a loyal customer of 7 years? When my contract expires in July, I will reward them by choosing another carrier!

Great Company, Great Customer Service

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Angela M on Friday, March 21, 2008
From: Hoboken, NJ (United States)
Experience: 8 Years
Pros: Good customer service, willing to work with you and go out of their way to help, even throw in some extras to keep you happy. Phone gets great reception and very few dropped calls. I get a free phone every two years, my Motorola Razr was free.

Cons: None.

Summary: I love everything about AT&T, I have no complains at all. I have been with AT&T since before they became Cingular and now they are back to being AT&T again and customer service has always been GREAT -- they always answered my questions patiently and politely, resolved every problem (although my problems have been very few and far between). The phones are great, the reception is better than my friends who have Verizon and Sprint. I rarely get a dropped call, and I commute from New Jersey to New York every day, no problem with reception in the tunnel or anywhere else in the city. Even on my vacation in the Catskills where everyone else had no reception whatsoever (yes and that includes Verizon), I had no problems at all, in fact I was the only one using my cell phone. Needless to say, I will stay with AT&T for a very long time, and I even got my friends to switch. So far, none of them have any complaints either!

The worst company in history!

Overall Rating:
1.3 out of 5
By: julie livers on Tuesday, March 18, 2008
From: salt lake city, UT (United States)
Experience: 5 Years
Pros: none

Cons: customer service- or lack there of-

Summary: I have never worked with a company that has such horrendous customer service. Having been with them for 5 years means nothing- they would rather lose a customer then correct a problem with billing that they made. Scam artists.

Good Customer Service/Poor Reception now with ATT

Overall Rating:
2.3 out of 5
By: Liz Zodeiko on Wednesday, March 05, 2008
From: Willow Grove, PA (United States)
Experience: 8 Years
Pros: If willing to work with Customer Service, can get good deals; cool phones

Cons: Poor service; many dropped calls; if not willing to pay for top-of-the-line phones, cheaper phones are of poor quality

Summary: I have been with Cingular/ATT for over 8 years, and since ATT took over, I have VERY poor reception, many dropped calls, and shoddy placement of calls. Changing one's location as little of 3 feet would cause the phone to go from full bars to no bars. I do like their customer service as they will work with you and throw 'extra's' your way, if asking politely.

Online billing is accurate, and simple to pay online, though I haven't done anything complicated like change credit cards.

Overall, cool phones, decent plans, but when it comes to the essential reason to have a phone - to communicate - ATT makes this PAINFUL!

Loved Cingular Hate AT&T

Overall Rating:
1.3 out of 5
By: Maria B. on Wednesday, March 05, 2008
From: Mt. Clemens, MI (United States)
Experience: 5 Years
Pros: Nice phones

Cons: The worst customer service!!! Problems w/my bill every month

Summary: I loved cingular, never had a problem with my billing or dropping calls. The first next month ATT bought them I have problems every single month. I get $600-700 cell bills because they "accidentally" changed my plan. They shut my service off 4 times in the weeks that I was dealing with the problem. Everyone I talked to was rude, unable to help me and kept sending from dept. to dept. Once I spoke to 8 different people before resolving an issue. TERRIBLE!! Once my contract is up I am switching.
