Beware of what they tell you!

Overall Rating:

Summary: I went from the old digital plan to the new GSM and was told that i would have double the minutes. Well the first time i went over my so called 1250 minutes i got a $400+ dollar phone bill. My minutes were supposed to be double the 1250, so that would have gave me 2500 minutes. This is what the lady told me when i signed up. They have a record of the lady telling me this so they took off $250 worth of the bill. So i ended up with 1800 minutes now for a little less money. They didn't refund me any money from a previous bill that i went over the so called 2500 minutes either. I have yet to use 2500 minutes but they ended up getting over $100 more dollars of my money! So beware of what they tell you and get their name and a copy of the contract. It could save you money and over 2hrs of wasted time that i had to have a phone stuck to my ear and being put on hold.

Pros: we have no problems with the phone Nokia. My husband has the black and he is a truck driver. uses it every where. He also has the blue tooth usees it all the time in the truck. But to me sometimes it can be nosey from his truck. I use mine all the time for to-do list. I have no cut out time on it I use the text too. We send pics all the time.

Cons: Some areas don't get a singnal as well if at all. Depends on how the clouds are.

Summary: When I have a Problem at all with aanything I call them and I have nice cust. service. Some of them are not up to date with the system. But I just ask for someone esle to help me. They have no problem doing so.

Great for small rural areas

Overall Rating:
4 out of 5
By: Neva King on Monday, January 29, 2007
From: Cambridge, OH (United States)
Experience: 9 Years
Pros: Great service in my area; customer service is excellent; reception is good

Cons: A little more $$ than other companies; some dropped calls; 1 or 2 year contracts, not much choice on free phones

Summary: I've been a Cellularone customer since 1998. I doubt I'll change. I might pay a little more than other companies around here, but I feel like the service availability Cell One provides in the more rural areas where I live makes it worth it. 2 year contracts bite, but I've found that I can simply buy a quadband unlocked phone on ebay for variety. Easy to understand plans/options. Overall, I'm very pleased given the options available in my area.

From: Solon Springs, WI (United States)
Experience: 4 Years
Pros: detailed bills, phone usually works

Cons: some areas do not get reception

Summary: Have used CellOne for 4 years now. Only went with them after asking many cell phone users who thay had and how their reception was. Most people recommended Cellular One so thats why I tried them and stuck with them. There are areas where I get no reception, but have heard other servers in my area are worse yet.

Coverage

Overall Rating:
2.3 out of 5
By: Mary Weeler on Wednesday, October 04, 2006
From: Naples, FL (United States)
Experience: 18 Days
Pros: 99% coverage

Cons: 1% non coverage

Summary: I cannot get total coverage all over Collier County. Coverage in Naples is good, but else where in Collier County is not so good. Perhaps with an antenna, reception would be better, but I would have to try it for further evaluation.

Cellular One

Overall Rating:
1.7 out of 5
By: weiming zhao on Monday, September 25, 2006
From: houghton, MI (United States)
Experience: 1 Years
Pros: GSM network

Cons: signal strength is not very strong

Summary: Sometime, there's no signal in my office. I have to walk out the building to make a call, even I stand beside the window.
The rate is higher, and very few choices on free phones. The biggest problem is it uses 850 Mhz, that makes my original tri-band fancy Nokia smartphone useless!

Not other choice

Overall Rating:
2 out of 5
By: weiming zhao on Sunday, September 24, 2006
From: houghton, MI (United States)
Experience: 90 Days
Pros: In Houghton area, there are only two choices: alltel & cellular one.
The signal is better than Alltel

Cons: More expense than T-Mobile, Cingular, etc.
The worst is you need a quad-band cellphone. They use a non-popular radio frequency

Summary: If large carrier provides service in here, I'll switch to them.
