I do not recommend T-Mobile

Overall Rating:
2 out of 5

From: Evanston, IL (United States)
Experience: 95 Days
Pros: Sometimes Customer Service
Plan prices/offerings

Cons: Service Received
Customer Service
Quality of Phones
Price of Phones

Summary: I have been a customer since 2003, but as of today I am looking to switch.

When people call me I get bad reception, staticy reception, no signals to get their voicemails or text messages, and I am not able to answer their calls. When I try to make calls the network seems to be out so I can only make emergency calls, but not the calls I want to make.

I am only on T-mobile because my other family members use the same service.

There is also a No Reason $18 upgrade fee for all new phones. In addition, $10 shipping charges are assessed to get any replacement phones if your phone does not work and still under warranty.

I share a family plan with my father. I have a text messaging plan on my line but not on my father's line, because you can't share text plans. I have found out today that T-mobile has tried to get Extra Money by placing my text messages with the text messaging plan on my father's account. I have called customer service but I was accused of physically using my father's phone when we do not live together.

It is always hard to get charges reversed, once they are accrued especially with T-mobile. I want to warn you of my problems so you do not face the same.

Hope you found this helpful!

Great Carrier

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: Dustin Wasil on Sunday, September 28, 2008
From: Dupage county, IL (United States)
Experience: 9 Years
Pros: My Faves call up to 5 contacts in any network or landline and its free. Can change them up only once a month, which is not that bad.

Good service just about anywhere you go.

Sim cards are nice, dont have to visit an authorized dealer to load contacts into your new phone, Nor do you have to visit them or call some weird number to activate your new phone. No charges to transfer your contacts from phone to phone because the simm card is a data disk and easily plugs into the phone.

Cons: Went from 1 year contracts to 2 year contracts. which is no fun if you anticipate getting a new phone every year at the discounted price. You have to wait at least 22 months into the contract for the discount to apply. Also nights start after 9pm instead of 7pm like other carriers. Although I have heard with certain plans nights can start at 7pm, but i think those are buisness or family plans.

thats about all the bad stuff there is. But all of the cons are outweighed by all the pr

Summary: Overall the carrier is great. In the last 9 years i think I only ran into 3 problems, 2 of which were handled really well. Not everybody is perfect but 1 complaint in 9 years not that bad. How many complaints do you get from a loved one in 9 years? yeah probably a lot more than 1, nonetheless great wireless carrier.

Great service, no problems

Overall Rating:
5 out of 5
By: carrie schillinger on Sunday, September 28, 2008
From: kissimmee, FL (United States)
Experience: 4 Years
Pros: Great phone, great prepaid plan

Cons: none

Summary: I have been a TMobile customer for 4 years and have used prepaid for my service. I was swindled in a post paid cingular service and said never again to post paid plans. I feel that I don't want to be tied down to 2 years and possible billing problems that everybody says that they always have. I bought a prepaid phone with TMobile and the Gold Rewards makes it great. I don't use the phone on a daily basis, so it works great for me.

Pleased with T-Mobile

Pros: Customer Service and plan rates

Cons: Phone selection

Summary: I originally switched to T-Mobile from Verizon b/c I had no bars in the house I had recently moved to. I think T-Mobile has one of the best customer service centers I have ever spoken to. Everyone seems cheerful and happy when I call and they are always willing to help.

I think their coverage has gotten better over the years. I rarely have a dropped call anymore. Also their coverage map on their website is so detailed. It's great.

If they had a better selection of phones I would give them a 5 out 5.

Unbelievable general bad service

Pros: Customer service fast answer

Cons: Signal problems, cell-phones problems, billing problems, cold blood cust.service, bad inssurance policy.

Summary: We bought 4 phones, family plan 1200 min. First 2nd and 3rd bills w/problems. The cust.service think that they have the right to punish you when they have billing problems, they tie you with the Credit Report on your SSN. My brother has Sprint w/3 lines: He never had problems with the cell phone, sometimes close to the beach he had low signal. If he don't pay on date, sprint sends a message after the due date, before they close the next period, they send an other text and voice message. After the next period due date, they call him, before turn off the service. If he do not pay, they turn off his line only, the main line, but he is still getting incoming calls and text msg. They charge the fee for the line that they turn off, not for all lines. T-mobile, totaly cuts your service for the 4 lines, without notice or msg, after 2 bill periods and you never know exactlly when. They charge you $20 per each line, and they won't give any chance to discount the $80. If you call some days before they cut the service, they will do something, but only once. After that you only can do an arrangement if you have the service canceled, is logical, after they charge you the $80 for that reason.
I paid inssurance for 12 months, $10 per line, when I call them to claim, they ask for 50 dollars, just to try to fix the phone, because they said that my inssurance was only for repairs. I changed one phone 3 times, and the others once each. I claim many times the problem with the signal strenght, they allways answer: We have excellent signal strenght in the area you are now, maybe is an other problem.
I took enought from them, I will cancell my service tomorrow, even when my contract end next year. I will go to sprint.

T-MOBILE

By: NICOLE CRAIG on Wednesday, August 27, 2008
From: FORT WORTH, TX (United States)
Experience: 2 Months
Cons: Bad customer service, phones never work, plans suck.

Summary: Joined t-mobile in June of 2008. phones are never working, takes forever for calls to go through. Sometimes I can't receive calls or make them. This month 8/22 paid my bill early because this automated voice would come on and interrupt me while i make calls, so i paid my bill early so that i could use my phone. went to the mall and pd 118.00 because i have two phones. left the mall and i still could not use the phone. went back to the store and the sales rep basically said i should'nt have paid my bill earyly because my 700 min would'nt be active until 8/29.. i said well can i call my favorite five. they said yes. tried calling them and calls would not go through. called customer service and they said that i would have to add min even after i just paid 118.00. i spoke with some rude person and asked him for their cooperate number and he said that it was agaist their company policy for the to release that info to me. there is always a problem with the reception, and when i call in to complain all they say is you'll just have to wait were getting someone in that area to fix it. they gave me 50 extra min for one time the phone was messed up, but if the problem is in you area they will not give you any min because to them thats normal for you not to be able to use your phone that you pay for every month. i really want to change companies because t-mobile is a joke.

From: virginia beach, VI (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: 0

Cons: Wrong billing, poor communication, bad customer service, poor signal, crappy phones

Summary: I changed service in March. Ntelos continued to bill me and when I called said they would fix the bill. I then got notice from an attorney's office who called them and they admitted their mistake however I still had to pay over 200 in attorney's fees or get sued. I will NEVER say good things about Ntelos. I had the service for over two years and wasn't satisfied but couldn't cancel due to contract cancellation fees. Waited my two years and changed service as fast as I could.

T-Mobile!

Overall Rating:
4.7 out of 5
By: Joshua Iverson on Tuesday, July 29, 2008
From: East Hartford, North East (United States)
Experience: 15 Months
Pros: OUTSTANDING customer care!! BRAVO!
Great Coverage!
Cool phones!
GSM Technology!
And AGAIN Terrific customer care!
Hotsp@Hme Service

Cons: Quite a few kiddy phones.
About 3 dropped calls per month.
Not all rate plans come with FREE Nights/We.En.
Poor mobile phone insurance...

Summary: T-Mobile USA is a great company! I have been with them for 15 months and I am VERY pleased! I love my phone(Sams. T519), I love my coverage, and I ADORE my CC agents!! They are like my 2nd family. I have had at&t and Sprint and T-Mobile is WAAAY better than both! Although I would prefer Verizon Wireless. However, I dont like the insurance policys and some of the phones. Like depending on how fancy your phone is, you will pay either 70$ or 110$ to have it exchanged if you have insurance. Verizon however, makes you pay only 50$ for any phone you have insured. Also, unless your paying $79.99 for a new phone w/ service, your gonna be looking at a little "kiddy" phone. Like the Sams. T639- I would consider a Kiddy phone. The Nokia 6301-I would consider I nice mature' phone. But overall T-Mobile is a great company to be with, and if your looking for good coverage, cheap plans, and satisfaction, T-Mobile USA is the way to go!! :)

Any Questions? Feel free to IM me on AIM! My screen name is "EHwurger"

Cons: no reception, worst customer service,

Summary: When we moved to another area they lied and said we would get service. They wanted to clean and upgrade equipments instead. Then tried to sell us more services. You can't keep up the service you have what makes you think I want to put more money in company.
