Research your area before you sell to customers

From: limestone, ME (United States)
Experience: 90 Days
Pros: none found

Cons: liars, never fix problems, only interested in their monthly fees

Summary: new cell company in the area some 3 years ago. Told me they were getting towers... never happened. told that there would be a local number, only number they had was a town 60 miles away so everyone had to call long distance. Was dragged along by rep till 30 days was past, so i had to pay penalty for contract on a phone that would only work on canadian towers... which they told me only to use there towers which made phone useless

Don't recommend

Pros: Kiosk customer service was friendly

Cons: They report coverage were there are none

Summary: When we moved to another part of the county, we didn't get but one bar (sometimes) where they said we should get three. We complained within our first year of our move. Upgrade your phone they say...we did.. didn't help and put us into another 2 year contract. We are getting new towers they say....a year later..still no new towers. Very disappointed.

Pros: Ycan make phone calls. thats about it.

Cons: They stink. have many problems texting. calls keep ending on me. horrible service area. customer care does the exact thing and never really helps. they just do what they did last time. never fixes problems.

Summary: T-mobile stinks. They have so many problems. I have had them for 5 years and they I keep having the same problem but have problems getting out of service. So I am finally switching to a different company. Too many problems to stay with.

Cons: Bad customer service, bad reception, internet is expensive, bad options

T-mobile stinks!

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Penny Rearick on Monday, June 30, 2008
From: Glastonbury, CT (United States)
Experience: 9 Years
Pros: none

Cons: Very poor troubleshooting assistance - while everyone is very polite - they aren't at all helpful!

Summary: I had t-mobile for almost 10 years - just had no reason to change....everything worked ok....so I stayed. Then, voice mail service on my phone quit working....I called customer service repeatedly...no luck. The problem continued for weeks on end. They kept "bumping me up" to the next leve of support - still - No voice mail. Noone could leave me a message. I use this phone for work - I couldn't function for weeks on end with no voice mail - I told them that repeatedly - still no resolution. Finally I had to switch carriers - I needed voice mail! I then discovered that T-Mobile's coverage area in CT stunk compared to my new carrier (AT&T). THEN T-Mobile had the Nerve to try and get me to pay an early termination fee (I had been their loyal customer for YEARS!!!!) I only left because THEY dropped the ball.....I refused to pay.....ugh...I am SOOOOO Happy to be done with T-Mobile. AT&T is SOOOOOO much better!

Worst provider ever

Summary: i thought verizon is the worst provider but i just find out that t-mobil is. I want it to transfer my pre-paid account to post-paid end-up talking to 100 people and at the end no one was able to do it. How hard it is to transfer line and keep the same number sounds easy but not with t-mobile. I end up cancelling my service because after two days trying to explain it is not worth it. will never recommand tmobil to anyone. The worst provider EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These days I would rather go with Verizon...

Location is the key in CA

Overall Rating:
3.7 out of 5
By: Ryuko Shirotori on Tuesday, May 27, 2008
From: Seaside, CA (United States)
Experience: 17 Months
Pros: Fantastic reception*; competitive pricing; most of the features I want; Service generally good; Reception map online!

Cons: Data plans are costly; Reception depends on where you live; website slow and clunky

Summary: Reception where I live is fantastic (although down the hill it is horrible for almost any carrier) so I rely on my cell as the primary phone @ home and work. A few dead spots out in the country in Monterey county, and almost none in the Silicon Valley area. Their myFavs plans are pretty decently priced;considering Alltel doesn't have service here, they're best "circle" plan I know of in CA. Although customer service over the phone has generally been great, their website is is always slow and half the features don't work on it. Very difficult to manage my account online. Additionally, their selection of phones is a bit lacking compared to other carriers. Being a GSM network is a huge counter to this however, as most 1900mHz GSM phones work great on the T-Mobile network. Bottom line: if you get good coverage in your area (they have free coverage maps on their website! What a novel idea!), then I recommend them.

Great customer service...but

Overall Rating:

From: Neosho, MO (United States)

Pros: I have had great coverage, and customer service since I started with T-Mobile last Sept. any where I travel and work (nationwide)I went with a plan that allowed unlimited roaming, because of my working different places around the country.

Cons: But, I just received a letter stating that they are canceling my service, it says that during several recent billing cycles a very high percentage of my calling usage on my phone occured while roaming off the T-Mobile net work, you think? thats why I signed up for the unlimited roaming plan!!!

Summary: I was told the company was making a business decision to do this to all customers using high amounts of off network roaming!!

I would stay with them...but

customer service is a joke...

Overall Rating:
2.3 out of 5
By: Dennis Pelton on Monday, May 19, 2008
From: Bellingham, WA (United States)
Experience: 4 Months
Pros: Great phones, cheap prices.

Cons: Garbage for customer service, cell phone reception is mediocre at best.

Summary: not long ago my phone stopped charging, I took it into their local store to see if something could be done about it. the customer service rep at the store handed me a phone and dialed the number to customer service. thats funny, i thought that was his job...? and didn't I drive all the way down to the store so I wouldn't have to talk about my problem on the phone in the first place? they told me my phone was under warranty, and that they would mail me a new one at my cost. mail me one? my phones almost dead, and I'm in a room full of them. cant i just reach out and grab a new one and not have to pay shipping? Upset by all of this, I sent them a letter about it. I just got their canned response to this complaint today. it said a lot of words while purposely dodging my real questions and even said (direct quote from their letter): "just like customer care, the phone has to be ordered from the warehouse". what is that supposed to mean? you order your customer service from your warehouse? the rest of the letter is just as ridiculous. this whole ordeal just seals the fact that as soon as my contract runs out I'm gone. no phone it worth all of this garbage...

Poor Policies and they misrepresent Contract

Overall Rating:
1 out of 5
By: Bill McNeer on Monday, May 12, 2008
From: Midlothian, VA (United States)
Experience: 2 Years
Pros: Cheap

Cons: Lame Policies

Summary: I had a contract with 4 phones. Service OK. Not as good as Verizon in our area but if you want a low cost family plan it's OK. One child moved out of state and they allowed me to cancel by proving residence. I did not have to pay the 200 dollar fee. My second child got a job where there is no service. I called to do the same thing. They said that the whole family had to move out of area to cancel without a fee. I asked the person in the store if we could do this and they said yes knowing that he would probably leave the area. Basically they went back on what they promised. I will cancel pay the 200 fee because the kid has to have a working phone. I will punt them as soon as my other two phones are up in a few months. I will love that day.
