They are exceptional about fixing their mistakes. Summer of 2004 Verizon mistakingly thought I was cancelling my service with them and i told them I wasn't. For that mistake, they had paid for 4 months of cell phone bills ranging from $80-100, now that was pretty sweet. Their coverage is amazing, I've never had a dropped call, and never had trouble making a call in the rare fact I was in a roaming area. If you choose Verizon Wireless, u'll never want to switch again, GUARNTEED! 20 out of 31 people found this review helpful Turn around and run as fast as you can!Overall Rating: By: Les Parks on Tuesday, January 08, 2008From: Tulalip, WA (United States) Experience: 6 Years Pros: OK customer service but...Cons: bad policies!Summary: Ever more willing to take your money but not willing to honor the warranty. 3 months and my charger port fell apart. They say its not part of the warranty package...for $50, they would give me a "refurbished unit" - %&@# them and the conglomerate horse they rode in on. The best way to get at these folks is cancel their service! 24 out of 43 people found this review helpful Not as good as some...Overall Rating: By: John Ambrosia on Sunday, January 06, 2008From: Queen Creek, AZ (United States) Experience: 13 Years Pros: Free Roaming, OK receptionCons: Some hidden fees, and more...Summary: Verizon has been OK for us, average reception, but not the best phones. We are looking into mabey swiching, and there are hidden fees that we don't care for. Verizon is not the best. 18 out of 25 people found this review helpful Great Experience!Overall Rating: By: Barbara Gilmore on Tuesday, December 18, 2007From: Lebanon, OH (United States) Experience: 90 Days Pros: I walked in with lots of questions, and received very good guidance and fast service. People were very friendly and helpful. The phone they recommended is simple, sleek and works like a charm!Cons: A little more costly than I expected, but worth it since our whole family can talk without using the minutes with the Verizon to Verizon deal.Summary: Overall, I am very well pleased! 10 out of 26 people found this review helpful They won't let goOverall Rating: By: Matt Sypersma on Saturday, December 15, 2007From: Sioux City, IA (United States) Experience: 6 Years Pros: Anytime after 8:00, payback for dropped calls, more minutes for less moneyCons: Couldn't use phones in our house, dropped calls, roaming in my citySummary: I received Alltel after they took over Cellular One. I was grandfathered my after 8 anytime and promised better service. When we got new phones (LG) we were told they were the number 1 phone. Service was great for about 2 weeks (wow). Then it all went to hell. Dropped calls all the time, suddenly we couldn't use the phones in our house. When I call CS they told me it was my house causing the problem and they wouldn't do anything about it. I told them that my Nokia's worked fine and my wife's Motorola worked fine and the LG's worked for about 2 weeks. Still they said it was our house. Once a friend and I were outside of town both of us using our Alltel phones, he was roaming and I wasn't, sitting 3 feet apart. I was told they used other provider's towers but when I was trying to use mine when a Verizon friend would be using their's, I would lose my call and they wouldn't. We rode out our contract while I had to continue sitting on my front steps to make calls (imagine this in the winter). I found out that I could get a discount through my new job with Verizon so I decided it was time to change. We got LG phones and ported our numbers. I have only lost 1 call with Verizon in the 4 months I've had them. I paid my next Alltel bill and thought I was done. I kept getting bills from Alltel. I talked with 5 people over a period of 2 months who told me I owed nothing and they would fix it stating that there was a porting problem with my wife's number even though her calls were showing up in the Verizon system. While I was talking to a 6th person on my home phone who claimed I still owed for my final month, another person called on my cell and he appologized to me for losing my call while i was on hold (which happened many times while I was trying to resolve this issue). Then I told the guy on my home phone what he said and I was told he was wrong and I still owed over $160. I asked how I could owe $160 for my last month when my bill was only $89. He said they were late fees and over the limit charges. We only averaged 400 anytime minutes for a 1000 minute plan. Something that was supposed to be corrected right off the bat. No one knew why we were flipped over to a lesser plan which caused these charges. He also stated that none of the reps were authorized to remove those charges and the system would put me back in. He got the charge down to $102 but I was still miffed about being charged more than a month's bill for only using our phones for 2 weeks after the last bill was paid. I called again a few days later and talked to another rep and she told me she was in a high position for fixing these kind of problems. She reduced my bill to $69 and I agreed in order to rid myself of the constant harassment of getting prerecorded messages on my cell saying I still owed money. This lasted a little over a month when I started getting the calls again at 2 per day. They wanted the rest of the money. I called again and while on hold with the rep, I was cut off again 17 out of 29 people found this review helpful Love it!Overall Rating: By: L G on Monday, December 03, 2007From: Upper Marlboro, MD (United States) Experience: 4 Years Pros: It's fast! Less dropped calls. Great service.Cons: Ummm...the only problem I had with my envy is the charger. I have gone thru 3 already. Summary: I love the carrier and the phone. 12 out of 33 people found this review helpful Looking to changeOverall Rating: By: Sanjay Parekh on Friday, November 23, 2007From: Pleasanton, CA (United States) Experience: 4 Years Pros: Wide coverage area.Cons: Pricey. Limited handsets.Summary: Wide coverage area still causes calls to be dropped or go straight to voicemail. This happens more within in-network calling. Very pricey. I wonder if the price premium is worth the wider coverage map now a days as att and metropcs are getting better and better. Phones are mostly Korean made. I have not had much problems with LG but the handsets' user interface is not that great. One has to push too many buttons to do anything even something as simple as accessing the contacts. The dataplans are too pricey. Further, to add another line can get pricey as well as they lock you into another two years worth of contract. They will hit you with activation fees, etc. 15 out of 31 people found this review helpful Not as good as I thought...Overall Rating: By: John Ambrosia on Wednesday, November 21, 2007From: Queen Creek, AZ (United States) Experience: 13 Years Pros: Sometimes good receptionCons: Mostly everything elseSummary: We have had Verizon for 13 years and they have been good to us. One of our phones broke and Verizon would not replace it without a new cnontract. We have moved recently and there is less bars and more dropped calls. I have one of there oldest phones and still, they will not replace it? Finally going to Alltel. I know I used to rate them good on this site, but not any more! 13 out of 28 people found this review helpful Reliable and ConsistentOverall Rating: By: Shalyn Marsh on Saturday, November 17, 2007From: Topeka, KS (United States) Experience: 3 Years Pros: -I like that I can get bill info and pay online, over the phone, thru text messages and snail mail. Even when I'm away from a computer I can make my payments on time. - I have good coverage, even when traveling. - decent phone selection - good customer service thru 1-800 number Cons: - can't get my picture texts in other areas - verizon has a character limit on text messages to other providers. I have to send 2 seperate messages manually. - would like more choices in the plans. Summary: I have been a Verizon customer for at least 3 years and I have had very few problems. I regularly travel all over the U.S. and I always have a better signal than my co-worker with a different cell phone provider. Sometimes, when I'm in the middle of nowhere I don't have a signal, but that will happen with any provider. Any problems I've had with billing or services have been resolved quickly thru the 1-800 number. Customer service in the stores can be tricky, but I'm usually satisfied. I make it a point to only go to the store during the slow times. I recommend Verizon to others. I just wish they offered a plan with less minutes than I have, but more than the next step down. 16 out of 24 people found this review helpful GreatOverall Rating: By: John Ambrosia on Saturday, October 20, 2007From: Queen Creek, AZ (United States) Experience: 13 Years Pros: EverythingSummary: Verizon is great.
