Chocolate TOUCH

Pros: great features, typical for the newer LG phones (like the enV touch and enV 3). Music is amazing on it. Touch screen is great.

Cons: Can't really think of any.Wish it had a few more main menu custimization option, but overall there is enough options

Summary: Wow! I am amazed with this phone. I replaced my Samsung Glyde, very horrible phone, with this one and am just amazed. To start with the touch screen works VERY WELL. I have had no problems with it, unlike the Glyde. Just like Chocolates are known for the music on this phone is beyond cool. The speaker on it works just like my speaker on my iHome. There is this cool drum feature where you can play along with the song. Don't really know the point but still kind of cool. Also there is FM radio, but you need headphones to listen to the radio. But it take the regular 3.5 headjack, like an iPod, which is awesome. The camera is really good, takes nice photos. There is on screen editing tools. It also has the famous drawing pad which is always fun when your bored. The texting on this phone is good for a touch screen. I am a teenager so I text quite a bit and I can text just as good on this phone as I could on all my other phones. If you turn the phone horizontally there is a full virtual qwerty keyboard. Also the shape of the phone is beautiful. it is so thin but not too thin. it fits perfectly in your hand. Overall I love this phone and am looking forward tohaving it for the next 2 years :)

Chocolate Touch

Overall Rating:
4.5 out of 5

Pros: Crisp sound from the phone. Vivid colors on the display. Great Battery life

Cons: Touchpad can be hard to press. No way to set an mp3 as a ringtone.

Summary: The phone has some nice features like Dolby sound and a 3.5" jack as well as a battery that lasts longer than its predecessors. However, I wish the touchscreen were more responsive as I feel I am pushing down hard on the screen to get a response. I would also definitely recommend a casing for the phone as it gets scratches easily.

Pros: Great music features, and texting looks excellent!
Sleek design and super thin. Thinnest touchscreen so far and easy to navigate.

Cons: It is still a not a capacitive touch screen like the more expensive phones.
Resolution could be higher, but still is good enough for an non smart phone.

Summary: A great music phone. Supper thin, but resolution could be better.
Texting seems good. Overall good non-smart phone.

3rd times a charm for the LG Chocolate 3

Overall Rating:
3.8 out of 5

Pros: The first thing I noticed about the Chocolate 3 when I recieved it was that it had a very large external screen. Another big pro I found was that LG decided to dich the slider form for a more reliable clamshell flip. Also the buttons on the inside of the phone are well spaced and very easy to text on. Also the internal screen is very bright and clear. The music player is good but nothing realy different from other music based phones.

Cons: I found that the buttons on the phone stick to the inside screen and leave the imprint of the buttons on the screen. I put a case on my phone after that and havn't had any problems with that. The phone also scratches very easily on the front from the glossy finish on it... I would recomend a case. Other than that the phone is good for a non-smartphone.

Summary: LG has traded in the previous slider chocolates to a duriable, more spacious clamshell flip phone. The Chocolate is a music based phone but has much more to offer besides a music player, a nice 2MP camera, large very easy to text on buttons, And a nice external screen. If you are looking for a reliable, non-smartphone then I think the the LG Chocolate 3 ( vx-8650 ) would be a good choice.

Great phone,

Pros: Large external screen. Great music player. Good camera. Large keypad, good for texting. External scroll wheel makes it more fun to use the outside of the phone.

Cons: Speaker is too loud even on low for calls. External scroll wheel seems kinda cheap and sensitive. Hard to open with one hand.

Summary: I've had the LG Chocolate 3 for about a month and a half and its been a pretty good phone. I have had it replaced in that time period due to my first one restarting itself randomly, but other than that I find its been pretty good to me. The phone is pretty long when opened and when you use it to talk but it's not a biggie. Battery life could be longer but can't complain. I really like the large external display and the music player is great. (which is good considering thats what the phone is mainly for) All in all the LG Chocolate 3 is a great phone and would recommend it to anyone.

Great Cell and Music Phone!

Overall Rating:
3.8 out of 5

Pros: Great sound quality. Large and clear external display (the size of some internal screens), interactive scrollwheel, huge bright and very clear internal display. Awesome music player!

Cons: Sometimes there is a software glitch and will freeze when sending a message, requiring pulling the battery out to reset. Kinda hard to open with one hand and flips open very quickly, which can make it fly out of your hand. A hard case on outside can help with opening. External display when open is blank (unusual for LG flip phones)
External display should be larger like Razr2.

Summary: This is a great cell phone, definitely carries over the chocolate package. FM transmitter isn't always real clear, but if you find the right station, it sounds very good. The displays are very clear and bright. The auto-bright internal screen works very well. The keypad is easy to use and very easy to text with. The two dedicated keys on the keypad are a great convenience for speaker and camera.

Very Good!

Pros: Great call quality; easy to use music interface; two big displays, including functional external display; nice features for a mid-range Verizon phone

Cons: Unimpressive picture quality; spin wheel feels a little cheap

Summary: I have had this phone for about a week and am so happy this is the purchase I made. The most important features for me were call quality, text messaging, and mobile web primarily for email access. The call quality is spectacular--very clear and based on most of the reviews and comments I've read, beats the call quality of other popular Verizon phones. With 3G and the internal speed of the phone, I've found using mobile web to be a good experience again. My last phone (a 3G capable Motorola) had such a slow response time when pressing a button and while checking email via mobile web, it was always a frustrating experience. But, it's no issue at all with the Chocolate 3. I've also had NO issues (freezes, slow responses, etc.) opening browser sites such as Phonedog, Amazon, Google, and other mobile phone review sites. No, it's not Wi-Fi or full HTML, but if you're like me and don't really need that type of access while on the go, but still want/need to make the occasional web connection for email and quick info, this phone works great. Not to mention, the phone is 3G and if you're in an areas where 3G access is readily available, I don't think you'll miss not having Wi-Fi for basic functions such as the ones I've mentioned.

Texting is easy and using the "Word" mode on the phone has been a positive experience. I do miss iTAP from my old phone, which predicted which word you were typing before completing it. As far as I can tell, you don't have that option with the Chocolate 3. However, I've found the "Word dictionary" to be better than my previous phone. While it won't predict the word before you complete typing it, it does a great job at choosing the correct word after you've made each tap (if that is making sense!).

I own an iPod, so I wasn't certain how much I would use the mp3 functionality of the phone. While it's no iPod, I am finding that it's a very good music phone and the 1 GB out of the box dedicated music memory allowed me to start playing with the mp3 player right away. I've loaded many albums via bluetooth (no problems at all, although I suspect there is an easier way to have it interact with my Mac) and have been happy with the experience of listening to music on the phone. While it won't replace my dedicated mp3 player, it will be very useful for those days when I don't want to carry an extra gadget, but want music for a walk around the city or a ride on the subway. My guess is that those who spend more time in the car will find the phone's FM transmitter useful for a similar reason.

I love the large external display, with easy access to your messages inbox, camera, calendar, photos, and music. It looks great and allows you to do simple things without opening the phone.

My one problem thus far is the camera quality. It's not a deal breaker for me, since I almost never take pictures with my phone. But, while the interface and functionality are impressive, the lack of flash combined with

Does very well for a mid-range music phone, but...

Pros: Call quality is great; nice big bright displays; keys have decent tactile touch, and operation is similar to most other LG phones.

Cons: The external speaker is a JOKE! Even on the lowest sound setting when using the phone for calls only (and not music), the ringtones are so loud that it hurts your ears and is embarrassing in public. The body gets smudges and fingerprints easily.

Summary: I love my phone. It allows me to add my numerous contacts as well as custom ringtones and listen to MP3s if I want. (I already have an MP3 player, though, so I use the phone for calls only.) Be sure to keep an eyeglass cleaner cloth around to periodically wipe the smudges off of the phone. I wish I knew how to solve the overly loud sound issue; otherwise, I'd recommend the phone.

Pros: Nice screens

Cons: Very bad phone features

Summary: Bad speaker phone quality. Bad sound quality. Need to press speakerphone button after every call. Need to unlock the phone every time you want to use it.The phone is too big. Reception is mediocare.
It is amazing that a company like LG can't produce a decent phone after so many years.
