LG Rumor White Cell Phone
What’s Good: Compact, rugged design with full QWERTY keyboard; Easy to use; Auto-rotating display; Good SMS, IM, and Email integration
What’s Not Good: Limited functionality beyond voice calling and messaging; No Power Vision access makes for slow Web browsing; Reports of laggy software and keyboard issues (I encountered none); Weak camera
Bottom Line: Rumor is a basic candy bar phone with a focus on messaging, and in this regard it really shone in my tests. I found the handset easy and fun to use so long as I kept to its strengths: Messaging and more messaging with voice calling and limited Web and media functionality thrown in. Rumor’s comfy QWERTY board, rugged design and soft-grip finish, and auto-rotating display make it a solid choice for cell phone users who value texting as much (or more) as voice calling.

This video highlights the happenings at Motorola this wee, the new Billshrink.com website, and what did the FedEx man just deliver for Noah to review next! Looking for a great messaging phone to use on the Sprint network? Well, Noah has found one in the LG Rumor. The bar style device come equipped with a slide out QWERTY keyboard that when opened, automatically switches the phone to messaging mode. Other key features include a 1.3 megapixel camera with 2x zoom, media player, and expandable memory card slot. What’s Good: Compact, rugged design with full QWERTY keyboard; Easy to use; Auto-rotating display; Good SMS, IM, and Email integration

Bottom Line: Rumor is a basic candy bar phone with a focus on messaging, and in this regard it really... A growing number of consumers use their “cell phones” more for messaging than for actual voice calls. Texting, IMing, and Emailing from handsets has become more and more popular amongst privacy-minded teenagers, business folk, and people like me who sometimes just don’t like talking on the phone. As such, when shopping for a new handset many people now try out the keypad before holding it up to their ear - messaging-related... Rumor is, on first glance, a somewhat chubby candy bar phone with a standard dialing pad, D-Pad, display layout on the front and a camera on the back. My review sample is finished in all-black with chromed silver plastic trim, and the soft touch paint used throughout made the handset really easy to hold onto. Sprint also offers Rumor in white and green color schemes.
What sets Rumor apart from your basic bar phone - and justifies... I tested Rumor on Sprint’s CDMA network in the San Francisco Bay Area with generally quite good results. Signal strength and voice quality were very good in most cases, and callers were able to hear me loud and clear with only very occasional minor static. The integrated speakerphone was okay in a pinch but not great, and the handset worked well with mono and stereo 2.5mm headsets (not included). I also wired some higher... All in all I really like Rumor. It’s designed to do two things well — make phone calls and send messages — and it succeeds on both counts. While power users want their handsets to do everything including high-speed Web browsing and advanced multimedia playback, Rumor isn’t for power users. Like it’s cousin, the Alltel Scoop, Rumor is meant for budget-minded folks who text as much as they talk, if not more. As such it... On Thursday Noah reported on Motorola's intentions for splitting their mobile phone division away from the rest of the company into a... Pros: Amazing battery life. Fast. Emails and IM's are very fast. Messaging is very neat! The QWERTY keyboard. Cons: It will sometimes shut off on it's on. But not very often. It does scratch very easily. Summary: I traded my LG Prada for this (because my Prada was giving me problems) and I like this soo much better. I can't stand virtual keyboards. But this phoen is amazing! The battery life lasts me all day and I never stop texting. Going on the web couldn't be any easier, emails and IM's are super fast! The only bad thing I could think of is that it will turn off and on sometimes. But it'll only happen like once every two days. And that it scratches pretty easily. All's I had to do was buy a hard case and screen protection plastic for the screen and TA-DA! Invinsable phone! :) I'd get it if I were you! Pros: Better OS, Keyboard, and everything Cons: Very Prone to Scratching!!!!!!!!! Summary: I would definitely buy this phone!!!! It is the best tech relate decision I have ever made!!!!!! I got the one in blue and have loved every minute of having it. Had it for 3 weeks now!! Pros: full qwerty key-bord,amazing style, great color choice, good battery life, the reception is crazy. Cons: Sometimes the phone shut down for no reason. Summary: Overall the LG RUMOR is a great phone with many features likes, tip calculator, note pad,mp3 players, extensible memory up to 4Gb,ect. this phone is perfect to send text message very fastly. Is't a good alternative to smart phone. Summary: This phone works so good i love it i had it for 2 years and it did not die on me it worked like it was brand new and it still does i recommend this phone : it has a full keyboard, media player/musicplayer,camera videocamera, games, mesaging, web broswer and much more Pros: qwerty keyboard, easy to use Cons: durability, poor camera Summary: overall for 50 dollars under a 2 year contract this is a resonable phone to get. It has its pro's and cons though. I have had this phone for about a year now and it has broken about 4 times already. And it not like Dropped very high either. one time i dropped my lg rumor in the sink with no water in it and it just slid down it. As i pick it back up I notice my screen is completely white. So i recomend going out and buying a case which will cost you 20-30 dollars but it is worth in the long run so you dont have to go through all the hassle of getting your replacement lg rumor. On the upside though the rumor gives you a nice querty keyboard with chick lit style keys that are easy to use. And it is spaced out enough from the screen that your finger dont get jammed when you are trying to type letters on the top of the keyboard. Overall this is a good buy for $50 for a nice querty feature phone 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful All LG Rumor White user reviewsK i was using my friends rumor and really liked it.
