I dropped the Pantech Slate once and the screen messed up severly. What should i do. I can barely have it on for 30 minutes before the screen is covered in lines and is completely unuseable. Anybody know what i can do. And my mom won't get me new phone until i stop dropping it and my contract expires for my other phone. i borrowed this one from a friend. Please reply.

I just got the Pantech Slate a month ago and I have been pleased! as a 13 year old i drop it get it wet and dont really use it gently. it still works as new! the battery is awesome if all you are doing is texting nonstop and on the phone for hours as long as you charge it for like 2 hours each day or at night! i really wanted the palm centro but i got this one as a surprise. i am very happy with it! the only problems i have are the few phone cases that there are out there and the bad photo quality, but its not like im taking pro pics or anything! btw i totally love this forum! i learnned how to change my totally annoying text message tone AND stop the beeps when my phone is on loud! thanks!

im thinking about getting the slate. i have been reading pros and cons about it all night. ive played with it a little in the store and so far, i love it. i think the keyboard is great even though the screen is a little on the small side.
my mom has the propel and i dont like it. the buttons are small and flat and i often hit a different button than what i want. the camera is farily good but the icons on the screen are small.

The pantech slate is an amazing phone!! I have it and the only problem was fixed here. I had no other problems and love the size and shape its great!

Pros: Love the keyboard though it takes a little to get used to. Good camera including video for a phone. If you don't want the expense of a Blackberry, this is a great substitute.Cons: Wish the battery lasted a little longer but much better than past phones where they would lose power by just sitting there.Summary: I've only had my phone for a month. I have enjoyed it more than any of my past phones. The keyboard is really nice as long as you remember to spell correctly. The settings are easy to figure out though getting a PDF version of the manual would be more handy than the one provided. I had to renew a contract to get the phone at a reduced rate, but it was more than worth it. Didn't know at first, but AT&T offers a $50 gift card (same price as phone with contract) so I got the phone for free which makes it even better.

Pros: Light-weight, big screen, thin, durable, fits in pocket great, QWERTY keyboard, battery life, easy to use but still has a lot of great features, takes videos, great cameraCons: nothing reallySummary: This is a GREAT phone. The best one I hav ever owned thus far. It is so thin and light-weight which is great cause you don't want to lug around a huge phone and it fits in the pocket great. The camera is excellent and I would STRONGLY reccomend this phone to anyone. I love its QWERTY keyboard. For those who really care about ringtones, I loved them. Great voice quality and its exremely stylish.

Pros: I just got my phone about 2 weeks ago but so far I really like the phone. Thought the design is very simple, the phone works. Texting is so fun as the keys are sturdy, with space, and easy to use. Speaker and volume is very loud. The LCD screen is very bright and the quality of pictures is good. I can hear people clear with no static problem. It took me a few days to get use to it as the navigator mode settings are a little different than my old phone.
Cons: One small problem compare to my old phone (Razor) is that the battery life is shorter. However, it only needs to be charge every other day depending on how much you actually text. For the first few days, I text people like crazy. Summary: I recommend the phone for people that don't want to spend hours reading an instruction manual but that want to have a phone with a qwerty keyboard for easy texting.
