Samsung Epix-SGH-i907 Cell Phone
A first look at Samsung's new beast of a WinMo smartphone, the i907 Epix. WinMo 6.1 Professional, WiFi, 3G, touchscreen, optical mouse, and full QWERTY. Check it out, unboxing style. Going back and forth between the Epix and Fuze over this last week has me weighing the two against each other, which isn't a very well-matched battle. Not because one blows the other away, but because they are such different devices in terms of form. In terms of function though, you'd probably be doing the exact same things with either one. I love the Touch line, so I was a bit surprised to find Samsung's Epix so much more... usable. The display... PhoneDog DogFight Poll - Dec. 08 Pros: Killer combination of touch screen, optical mouse, and QWERTY board; Improved battery life vs Blackjack II; Lightweight; 3G and WiFiCons: Windows Mobile is Windows Mobile; Thicker than Blackjack; Proprietary headphone jackI'm gonna catch heat from HTC fans for this, I know, but Samsung's Epix is the best Windows Mobile Professional device currently available on a US Carrier - particularly so if your main interest is in getting things... I've had the Samsung Epix i907 Windows Mobile smartphone (AT&T) for
about a week now, and spent two days or so getting extra-cozy with it
on a trip to Dallas late last week. While it's no secret that I'm not
a big fan of Windows Mobile in general, I also won't make a secret that
I've been really pleased with Epix itself. Early "reviews" were hard
on Epix for having a thick profile and what some called a superfluous
feature... Carrier: AT&TRetail Price:$449.99 or via ebayContract: $199.99 or Via Let's TalkHot Feature: optical joystig
The Samsung Epix is an innovative new smartphone featuring both an advanced touch screen and new optical mouse technology that is powered by AT&T's 3G network and the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system. Pros: Very fast internet, wifi is easy to access, very long battery life and its a touch screen Cons: sometimes the phone freezes up but nothing big, sometimes hard to hear ringtone at first Summary: This phone is amazing if you liked the blackjack, blackjack 2 and the jack then this is the pinnacle of the 3 if you like using the internet this is the perfect phone for you also the touch screen is very responseive and works better with the stylus. This is the best phone i have ever owned. Pros: The phone has a great feel to it. I love the fact that it has wifi, opticle mouse, and a touch screen. Cons: The screen is small and not responsive as others. The call quality is not as good as I expected. Internet Explorer was a disappointment as well. Summary: I had the tilt before purchasing the Epix. I was used to the large screen on the tilt. I downloaded spb mobile shell 3.0 onto my epix, and surprisingly it worked well. The touch screen is not as responsive as the tilt, but you do get use to it. I'm learning to love this phone. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful Pros: Wifi - don't have to pay pda plans. Battery lasts a long time due to saver features. Mouse, touch screen and keyboard. Cons: Have some trouble with ring tone not being loud enough to be heard. Wifi setup instructions are insufficient. Summary: I bought this phone because I didn't want to pay for a pda plan. Had some trouble getting the wifi to connect correctly, even with all of the info I found on the net. AT&T was not helpful. I contacted Samsung directly and was put through to 2nd level support - five minutes later it is up and running and no problems since! This is by far the most flexible, coolest phone device I have ever owned. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful Pros: This is a excellent phone to get, the buttons are just write, the new touch screen design is also a cool new feature they put in and it just keeps on surprising you no matter what. Id pick this phone over the iphone anyday. Cons: I cant find anything wrong. Summary: All in All this is a amazing phone to have, and its design for any type of person, for example you like to text alot , and the wifi that comes on this phone is also amazing. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful Pros: Better browser with much better speed...more user friendly and more features...love the optical mouse and touch screen Cons: 3g is def faster but no miracle worker...same size as iphone but feels bulkier...nice to have full keyboard but keys are a little small...learning curve going to windows environment...charger connection is different than my wifes samsung flip phone...too proprietary...can't share accessories among other‚ recent samsung products Summary: So far I love it...defitely a learning curve from the pearl but now that I am not stuck with lotus notes and the associated enterprise server am loving the active synch with my works outlook account and the cheaper data plan...for $50 more this is def worth it vs blacjack2...I have a ways to go with this as I have only had it a few hours but I am writing this review with it and can't put it down...so far its the best phone I've had 13 out of 13 people found this review helpful All Samsung Epix-SGH-i907 user reviewshonestly ii think you should go with the blackberry bold cuz its a way better fone ive had both but the bold is the best out of the too its allover a better phone guarenteed the epix touch screen not good after 2 months of use it was horrible work anymore and had too go get the blackberry bold I personally like the Blackberry Bold better. My girlfriend has the Epix, and it is hard for me to get around on it, and I would like to think that I am good at things like that. The bold has a Much better keyboard and the screen is one of the best out there, if not the best. The speakers are also better on the bold, which actually out do the speakers on the iPhone. The touch screen on the Epix is very nice as is the optical mouse, but its... I am split between two phones: the Blackberry Bold and the Samsung Epix. Which should I get? I really like Windows Mobile, for its wide availability of applications/games, compared to the Blackberry OS. I like the Bold's keyboard so much better than the Epix's, but the Epix's touchscreen and optical mouse feel priceless. The Epix also seems faster while using the web browser, from just browsing, to streaming videos, the Epix seems faster. The... I have the epix and love it. did it disapear? I look for post but looks like its not to popular Noah when can u do a full review on the samsung epix because i just got the phone and want to know more about it.Also do u know when the blackberry Gemini is coming to T-mobile?thanxs I didn't know where to suggest a dogfight directly to Noah so I decided to do it here. My friend and I have had heated discussions about whether the Samsung Epix or Blackberry Curve 8900 was superior. We were unable to come to a conclusion as to which phone was actually better so he suggested we let Noah determine a winner with a dogfight. Please help us come to a verdict Noah! Thanks in advance. So my friend and I are having a big dispute about whether the Epix or the Crackberry Curve 8900 is better. I am totally behind the Epix since I love the fact that it has a touch screen(even though it's not that great) and an optical mouse along with all of it's functions. He believes that his Blackberry is much better. What do you guys think? the touch pro 2 will mostly be sold unlocked until q3 2009 go for the epix it is a very nice highly rated phone Hello, this is my first post. But I am upgrading in about 2-3 months and was wondering if I should go ahead and get the epix or the fuze. Both phones i like cause everywhere i hardly ever go has wifi. Also I know that the Touch Pro2 is coming out this summer, and I was wondering if i should get that cause of the form factor, Weigh plays a big part when moving your things from class to class, and I want a smartphone It would be helpful typing... D-Dave,First off, Eternity is a "Feature Phone" where the other two are Windows Mobile smartphones. So you have to look at what level of features and complexity you want. If you just want a phone that can also do basic Web browsing, Email, messaging, and media playback, Eternity is great. It works well, has a nice form factor, and you'll pay less per month for a data plan with it than you would with either of the other two.If...
