Samsung Rant Red Cell Phone
Ever since LG and Sprint launched Rumor 2, people keep asking: Rumor 2 or Rant? Here's Part 2 of Noah's answer ... Ever since LG and Sprint launched Rumor 2, people keep asking: Rumor 2 or Rant? Here's Part 1 of Noah's answer ... Messaging phones are cool, but how can you choose one when they all look the same? Noah checks out two full QWERTY phones that look alike but perform quite differently: It's a DogFight between the Samsung Gravity for T-Mobile and the Samsung Rant for Sprint. It's NOT a tumor ... I mean, Rumor! It's the Rant. Check out Sprint's new messaging phone, the Samsung Rant. It's cool but honestly it does look familiar. A friend of mine recently got his second cell phone, the Samsung Rant for Sprint. I say "got" and not "bought" because the phone is a hand me down from a friend who tacked my friend onto her family plan. Rant is an upgrade for him from an old Sprint flip phone whose make and model he can't recall (also a hand me down). My friend is 40-ish and never owned a cell before his friend added him to her family plan, and has been happy to... Replacing the Rumor as Sprint's primary texter, Rant is a messaging powerhouse. The keyboard feels great and is easy to use in light and dark environments. Every aspect of this phone is geared towards text and multimedia communications.
Rant supports Sprint's TV and Music Store, so there's plenty of portable entertainment available at 3G Speeds. With stereo Bluetooth and music in the background, the phone could be a student's dream come true....

The Samsung Rant, a new messaging phone heading for Sprint in October is similiar to the LG Rumor in form and function. Key features include a slide out QWERTY style keyboard, microSD memory card slot, stereo Bluetooth, media player, 2.0 megapixel camera and GPS(LBS).
There are a lot of new phones out there; on the shelves or ready to drop. And I've got three in hand. Sprint's latest offerings from Samsung--the Highnote and Rant--are at the top of my review list. It's clear from the name, controls, and large external speaker that the Highnote is all about music. Its design incorporates a unique take on the conventions of slider phones.
The Rant is a messaging monster with a keyboard that's easy to...

Pros: great keyboard. tough. good coverage. Cons: lags a tad. Summary: this is the toughest yet most stylish slide out phone on the market. i've dropped mine countless times, causing it to turn off, but when it turns back on it works like a charm. Pros: QWERTY board, Sprint one-click, build quality Cons: email client (not the best but its passable), camera Summary: After having this phone for about 5 months I can happily say that I made the right decision. This phone is perfect for the social networker in you, from its facebook client to the slide out qwerty board. The build quality is amazing I think Samsung and Sprint did a fantastic job. Pros: Full Sliding keyboard, up to 700 contacts, Built in music player, Replaceable Battery, 2.0 Megapixel Camera and camcorder, built in micro sd card, Cons: Short Battery life, slow internet, Freezes alot Summary: Overall the Rant is built for you social life, anyone who love texting and communicating with friends would love the rant. Also, don't be afraid to take lots of pictures and videos with a 2.0 Megapixel camera and a built in Micro SD card. It freezes alot for me, also when I go into my ringers it mixes up words like for example it would say " Welcome to the Jungle by Jackson 5" or "ABC by Rihanna 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful Pros: I love it's smooth and glamourous feel and look. It Has sprint one-click, which i'm in love with right now. The texting quality of the phone is amazing. I love every bit of it. I like the internet browser too. I LOVE how you can customize your carousel. All the important stuff in the one-click. And you can add your shortcuts too. The sprint navigation feature is cool too. At first I though the battery life sucked, but I found out you've got to decharge your phone all the way, and then charge it. Cons: Okay, I have like only two about this. The internet browser is okay, but it doesn't give you a full browser experience. The camera on the phone is kinda weird you've gotta hold it for a little then it'll take the picture. Summary: In all, I say the samsung rant is 4.5 out of five. I hope people do the decharge technique, it really helps. I say this is a great phone for teenagers, and people who like to text a lot. 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful Pros: dont no what this is 4 Cons: dont n0 what this is 4 either Summary: k my second choice for a fone when i was gettin my new fone was the samsung rant but i didn't get it because i herd and saw that it had a problem that the screen was goin blank and wasn't working ever again i even saw it happen because when i was looking at the fone when i was about to buy it it just went blank and the store was keeping it there 2 show ppl what could happen to this fone after 30 days or less or maybe u could of just got lucky andit would all work out but wall i was there the 4th person was coming in to return the fone. but then my first choice of fone was the samsung propel i think that it is an excellant fone i had it about 2 weeks and it is fantastic i love it so if u want the samsung rant dont get it make another choice because i dont think that u want to get in to a problem lik that so if ur gettin a new fone i recommend the propel or any other fone out there i geuss i hope this helps any one lookin for there new fone. dont get the rant!!!!!!!!!! 0 out of 11 people found this review helpful All Samsung Rant Red user reviewsI just upgrade from my Blackberry Pearl to a Red Samsung rant wit sprint today n i had a 4GB memory card in my blackberry pearl with all of my music pictures ringtones n videos on it....I wanted to kno is there a way that i can transfer those to my smasung rant or be able to have access to them all n be able to use them on my Rant??? Yes, Lotus is MUCH better it has a better keyboard and the Rant is just heavy to me :D whats up gowcaizer!!!all right here is the thing before you consider either, the rumor 2 will be coming soon as well as the instinct mini. both will be pretty coolbut it depends mainly on whether you want to text or do multimedia well owning both of these fones i would havta go with the Instinct because it is just as easy to message on thatpluss the internet is beter the rant is good too tho i have it right nowwi accidentally jumped into a pool with my instict hahha badddddd choice ya go with the instinct its way beter definitely lotus. its got a much better browser, its got a bigger screen for watching videos and it comes with guitar hero 3 mobile. the rant just sucks Yeah i would like to hide that but thanks for taking ur time Noah Yeah, the Rant is a nice quick messaging phone - it's like a better Rumor or Gravity, since it has better specs, a metal body, and a slightly nicer display than those two phones. I'm not yet a huge fan of One Click, but I think it's a good move by Sprint. I'd like to see some options for more advanced users who want to hide the menus and use shortcuts instead, and I'd like to see more visual consistency between One Click and other... LG LOUTUS IS THE WAY TO GO.But thats my opinion. Is the Samsung Rant a good quick message phone?
and what do you think about the One Click for Sprint?
thanks Phonedog
