Pros: Loud speaker phone - you'll need it because half the time you won't be able to understand the person on the other end of the line. Has no problem receiving or making calls. Solid build quality.Cons: Touch pad is awful (gimmick), music player sucks, call quality is poor, no games, included wallpaper and themes are unappealing, display is so-so
Summary: Lack of dedicated music player buttons, poor sound quality and persistent snap crackle pop completely spoil any enjoyment in using this as a music player. Touch pad is annoying - significant time lag between the time you push a button and response - and half the time phone doesn't recognize touch - or navigates to wrong menu. I find myself repeatedly stabbing the musicplayer icon with my finger trying to get the app to open. Music app is nothing fancy, but adequate - problem is it only stays open for a few seconds after you stop using the touchpad - then the phone locks down - so if you are trying to figure something out and take longer than 10 seconds, you are out of luck - or if you want to skip to the next song or go back to the previous one, same deal - you have to unlock the phone again and then re-navigate to the musicplayer using the touch pad. This gets old fast. And no, according to Verizon there is no way to fix this. Additionally, you cannot set mp3s as ringtones - an inexcusable flaw in a music phone - can you say Verizon-greedy-beyond-belief three times fast?
No video, camera is only 1.3mp - picture quality doesn't suck, but isn't great either. No games included - zero, zip, nada. As with most Verizon phones, you have to pay for wallpapers, themes, games - see Verizon comment above and consider it bolded, underlined and followed with lots of exclamation points.
Call clarity is awful - the sound is loud enough (often too loud), but fails to be distinct so it is difficult to understand what people are saying. I noticed the same lack of clarity on the music player app - I have the exact same mp3s on my netbook as on my phone and find I constantly have to put volume up to ridiculous levels on the phone to distinguish sounds which I can hear clearly at half the volume or less on my netbook.
Bottom line - ICE, shmice. Don't waste your time or money on this dreck.
