Nokia N900 + SNES Emulator + Wiimote + TV OUT = RetroTastic!
via EngadgetMobile Cestos is not the only multiplayer game in the Android Market, but the multiplayer functions are more well-integrated than I've seen in any other app. Gameplay is fun and a little addictive. But sound effects are the first must for this free app to reach its potential. Programmed by Chickenbrick Studios. Every once in while I like to play a game that serves more as an analgesic than a hand-eye coordination challenge. Other days, I want to be on my toes looking for the next virtual threat. Buka provides a bit of both in a cute but numbing package. I mean that in a good way. You'll see what I mean.
How many Breakout clones are available for Android? A lot, that's how many. I had to edit out my banter about how a neighbor destroyed my Atari 5200. That's how many Breakout clones are in the Market - and I didn't even cover them all. Here are a couple to look for, and a few others to avoid. BTW, if you can play Droid Breakout using the accelerometer while the reverse power-up is active, I salute you. Does anyone want to volunteer a cooler... Ron checks out what might be the best iPhone game evar: Tiger Woods PGA Tour from Electronic Games. $9.99 is a lot for an iPhone/iPod game, but Tiger might be worth it. Guest Mobile Gaming Editor Ron takes a look at Metal Gear Solid for iPhone & iPod Touch. How does this shooter translate to the small screen? Check it out.
Hands-on with the first add-on module for Verizon's LG Versa. Noah checks out the gamepad, a slide-out D-Pad with gaming buttons. Droid Wars is a new segment I'm going to try and put together once a week or so. Forget the other clones. For this kind of puzzle game, two stand at the top of the heap: Jewellust and Bejeweled. Noah reviews AQUIA Art Style, one of the first Nintendo DSi games available in the DSiWare online store.
This one is unique in the Android Market. And because you can play for free or buy for - I mean donate - 99 cents, I have to advise a test drive. Puzzle games like this drive me up the wall, and I usually end up searching for the walk-through. If that kind of frustration intrigues you, then you will not be disappointed. Feel free to comment about how easy you found it. I think it's quite challenging, and well worth the dollar investment to see... More games videos »Greedy resource mongers of the world, take note: Your favorite way to waste time is now on the iPhone. Settlers of Catan now comes as an app called Catan — The First Island. The decidedly un-techy, but addictive board game (which pits players against each other to build cities, roads and armies) went through a design overhaul to fit gameplay from a large board onto — well, the iPhone.
Apart from a few criticisms, including those... A new report by DFC Intelligence, called “The Market for iPhone and iPod Touch Games and Applications,” says the iPhone platform (which includes the iPod touch) has potential to overtake Nintendo and Sony, possibly by 2014. Here’s the presumption: The firm thinks that popularity for Nintendo’s DSi and Sony’s PSP Go has maxxed out. And since the iPhone has more overall functionality (as a phone, media player,... If you’re a Rock Band virtuoso with an iPhone, you might be jazzed about Electronic Arts’ ambitious new app. While not a perfect game, Rock Band for iPhone does offer fans of the original the familiar graphics and popular rock songs they’d expect from the mobile version. As colored “notes” or rectangles zip down the screen in time to the music, players hit the corresponding colored inputs when they land at the... I’ve never been one for sports, but I find myself playing all sorts of things when electronics are involved. (I’m not bad at Wii Tennis, for example, but get me on a real court, and I stink. Sorry, but balls whizzing past my head freak me out.) Likewise, I may not be a golf fan, but I’m tempted by Adrenaline Golf, a new game designed for the iPhone. What makes this different from other iPhone distractions is that it may be the...
Last week I got a review copy of Gameloft's NFL 2010. This week EA Mobile released some screenshots previewing their forthcoming Madden 2010 for iPhone. Must be football season, even though it's still August.
Gameloft did a really nice job, I think, of developing a casual football title for iPhone. Madden iPhone's screenshots look great, and people are all in a tizzy about the uber-popular franchise coming to iPhones and iPod Touches.... Though I'm not a gamer in the slightest (Brick Breaker is about as far as I go, or the occasional round of Jezzball, if you remember that game), I realize that there's a large population of them out there. And of that population, some of them own BlackBerry devices. If you fall into that category, then prepare to start downloading away.EA Mobile today announced the availability of eight popular game titles, available in the... Use The Force. Or the App Store. Either way, you can get some saber-/sword-fighting action happening right quick. iSamurai Bluetooth is a game app that lets players use their handsets for imaginary swordplay, complete with steel-on-steel sound effects when the phones are in close proximity. Holding their iPhones/iPod Touches, users can strike or block, with the devices clanging every time the “swords” meet. Gameplay is reminiscent of the... There are some interesting things happening in Android gaming, and more specifically, in G1 Gaming. Take for instance the new Zeboo console designed as an affordable alternative to emerging markets. Turns out that the units are hacked G1s! And check out the first video below (found via Android Central) that demonstrates the alpha GP2X game emulator for Android. It can load games originally designed to run on MAME, SNES, Sega Genesis, Game Gear... Everyone knows that talking on a phone while driving is dangerous. But texting while driving? That’s just insane. Case in point: A recent incident involved a Boston trolley driver who, distracted by text messaging on his cell phone, caused a horrendous train accident on May 8. The accident injured 50 people and cost 9.6 million dollars in damages. Now it looks like everyday people have stopped complaining about the behavior and finally decided... You know you love mobile gaming as much as me, and with big studios like Electronic Arts (EA) going full force at it, that could only mean good things for us consumers. EA Mobile has some big releases coming soon with Need For Speed (iPhone) and Tiger Woods '09 (iPhone) so it was only a matter of time before they gave us mobile maniacs a place to discuss our favorite EA Mobile games.

Well a quick way to avoid that is to hit the CALL softkey and your message will just send instintly.
Also to add free games "you will need a memory card for this" plug your phone up to the computer in mass storage mode then create a folder in your memory card called "Games_Jar" then go... Hey there. Thanks for posting. My depth of mobile game knowledge is mostly tied to the iPhone, since that's what I carry. For that, I know that Aurora Feint, a puzzle game with D&D stylings, is promoting itself as an MMO. Mostly, it's just score comparisons with a networked community, though they've upped the ante with a new version that lets other players distract or block your moves in-world. I think that Maze Wars Revisited sounds a... I love games on my phone, but i think it will take a while before games such as MMO's or RPG's will be introduced to the cell phone. Now if a cell phone had game cartridges to put in, like a gameboy type thing, that might be pretty cool. 3G+Online Gaming=One kick ass experience! I love having games on my phone. i usually have a PSP or a nintendo DS with me so if i could have it all in one i wuld be in heaven. I have a few games i put on my omnia that i play all the time like tetris and i just found an SNES emulator that works on it but it is a little glitchy. I am anxtiously awaiting the day when they have bad ass games on my phone. Hey everyone. I keep reading that Asia thinks cell phone games will be even bigger business in the future, so a lot of companies are investing in it for that market. That got me wondering if the potential is mostly limited to Asian countries, and what the state of the mobile gaming industry might be here at home in the foreseeable future. What do you think? How important are games to your mobile phone experience? Are you interested in stuff like... Re: iPhone Game: Adrenaline Golf, specifically designed for 3G S graphicsAnother game that now takes advantage of the new graphics engine is AirMaster. I got it back when it was barely a game, but free. Now it is the best 3d flying shooter ever! Try it out. The most recent update gave it the new graphics abilities, including rippled effect in the water among other graphical advancements. I haven't tried it on the 3GS, but again, the latest update says that graphic enhancements for 3GS were released. More games comments »
