Referring to vague terms such as a "defragmentation engine," the question remains: with this proverbial "shadow" over the company's agreements, technology, and the like, will they be...The Zer01 Story, Part One: TechnologyThose that are entrenched in wireless industry news are well aware of the troubles surrounding Zer01 Mobile. Shortly after announcing a revolutionary $69.99 unlimited wireless phone service, questions were raised about the company and its distribution partners. Global Verge, the tiered marketing company that was exclusively selling the service under their "Buzzirk" subsidiary, is now out of the Zer01 game, with former CEO Mark...Post-CTIA bonus footage: AccessoriesAt the fringes of the exhibit hall at CTIA, accessories makers were busy hawking their wares. Here's a quick peek at a few products that were demoed on the show floor.Kempler & Strauss "W" watchphone - hands-on @ CTIAIs the much-talked about "W" watchphone a novelty device or a real communications tool? Watch the vid from CTIA 2009 and decide for yourself.Toshiba TG01 - Hands-On @ CTIA1 GHz Snapdragon processor, HUGE screen, Windows Mobile 6.5, and more! The Toshiba TG01 is a neat phone, and Aaron and Adriana from phonedog.com check it out at CTIA Fall 2009 in San Diego, CA.Nokia E72 - Hands-on @ CTIANokia E72, in all its slim and speedy glory. Hands-on demo direct from the show floor at CTIA.Exclusive hands-on footage of the Samsung Moment @ CTIAThe Samsung Moment announcement was yesterday, but due to the crowded nature of the actual event, the hands-on footage was rushed. Fortunately, we met with Sprint executives who gave us a personal tour of the device and its capabilities. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!Nokia Booklet 3G - hands-on @ CTIANokia's new Booklet 3G is HD-ready and rarin' to go. Check out the demo here, from the show floor at CTIA.PCD (Verizon) Razzle - Hands-On @ CTIAIt's branded as the Verizon Wireless Razzle, but it's made by PCD. We talk to TIm Way, PCD's Account Manager, about the unique rotating design.Garmin Nuvifone G60 @ CTIA 2009So there's been some drama at CTIA, at least for the PhoneDog crew. Let's just say that stolen vid cam = bad, but lost footage = HORRIBLE. But we did what we had to: Asked Garmin to redo their G60 demo for the only cam we had on us (a crappy digital point-and-shoot). Though it's a bit late to the game, AT&T users will walk out of the store ahead of the pack thanks to the inclusion of Windows Mobile 6.5. I have to admit, if you're a fan of the European version, AT&T does the best job of preserving the look - that being...BlackBerry Bold and Curve 8520 in white at CTIAIf you think about it, the BlackBerry Bold is the only device in recent memory that hasn't been expanded upon in the color front. According to RIM, that will change next month, when the BlackBerry Bold is launched next month in white. Here's what we know: the device is for sure coming to AT&T, and will be available in "select stores" (spoken directly from a RIM representative at the convention). The release date, on the...A look at the Samsung Behold II with T-MobileOk, this has to be the most frustrating thing in the industry. A vendor has a hot phone that everyone wants to see, so they tempt the media by putting it out on display, but without a battery so the user interface/screen/etc. can't be seen. That being said, I was able to snap a few quick shots of the Samsung Behold II before they pried it out of my grubby paws.As a recap, the device is expected to include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, a...Pictures of the Garmin Nuvifone at PepcomAt Pepcom earlier this evening, we were able to get some hands-on footage of the Garmin Nuvifone G60 device. Quite the cool little phone, but I can tell that it's either going to be a love/hate thing. The OS is functional but kind of basic - it's clearly a navigational device first, with phone considerations second. That being said, here are some pictures for your enjoyment!Images of the Nokia N900 from CTIA Fall 2009I'm not going to lie - I'm not a huge fan of Symbian. The form factor of the E71 (and E72) are absolutely gorgeous, but I've never liked the S60 platform. That being said, I am incredibly impressed with Maemo. Targeted more as a "mobile computer" than a phone, the N900 re-invigorates the Nokia line. That being said, I'll shut up. Enjoy the pictures, and be sure to tweet me your Nokia questions, as we'll see them...Images of the Samsung Omnia II from CTIA Fall 2009So, here's what we know. The Samsung Omnia II is coming to Verizon (it has Verizon branding), but I was quite shocked to hear that it runs Windows Mobile 6.1. 6.1?!? With 6.5 launching now, a new device running Windows 6.1 is a bit unacceptable. During my hands-on time with it, I noticed that it was a bit laggy (and so did the reporter beside me), and the touchscreen seemed a bit off. Here's a few pictures - enjoy!Omnia 2 pic from CTIA San Diego 2009Aaron Baker is at the CTIA event in San Diego with Adriana Lee covering the latest and greatest new cell phone news. Just in, a close up pic of the Omnia 2. Find out more about the Omnia 2 from here.
